WHAT WE DO

Nri Charity Organization works to improve the quality of life of Nigeria communities. We work in partnership with other nonprofit organizations to promote health, education and community development. We place communities at the center of development in the belief that only through strong communities can Nigeria develop and manage its vast natural resources, provide adequate education and vocational training, address people's needs for health care and disease prevention, achieve economic well-being and live in peace.

Our overall objective is to improve livelihoods, life chances and wellbeing in Nigeria communities by undertaking programs designed to enhance the capacity of individuals, communities, civil society, social enterprises, businesses and local institutions to alleviate poverty and improve the conditions and standards of living through self-reliance-focused mechanisms. With the generous backing of our supporters we continue to mobilize the requisite human, material and financial resources that enable us to operate a variety of programs and activities that currently enable the fulfillment of the organization's firm commitment to the following objectives:

Healthcare Program:

The health of a community can only be as strong as the wellbeing of its citizens. Through generous contribution of time, talent, funds, materials and supplies from individuals, foundations, and businesses, we seek to address healthcare improvement issues. We focus on initiatives that alleviate the health problems that confront the under-served and uninsured, in particular drug addiction and its associated diseases including HIV/AIDS. We support advocacy programs for better health care and social services for children and youth as well as for a comprehensive system of universal health care. Of particular concern is the support of efforts to combat childhood lead paint poisoning and mental health disorders

Nri Charity Organization supports efforts to provide quality instruction and leadership, promote professional development, develop effective curricula (pre-school through 12) through pilot projects, increase community involvement, and enhance basic skills and further literacy enrichment.

After-school activities and intramural sports with academic components have received on-going support to help fill gaps in the extra-curricular programming. In recognition of the pivotal role of quality teaching and leadership, the organization also supports recruitment and retention efforts, teacher training, and principal recruitment
